What's going on with the banks?

Well it just gets weirder and weirder!!

Banks going broke. The US taking over the 2 top lenders and wanting to spend $700 billion to save the rest. Even the UK has just taken over their top lender. The EU, not to be done out, has started the process of taking over 3 of Europes largest lenders.

So, all I can think is.....WTF!

So these banks are being bailed out, debits being paid by tax-payers, and what will we have when the dust settles?

The worlds governments will be in control of all major financial institutions!

Does anyone else see a problem with this?

So we have the US, UK and EU taking over banks. Austraila, Russia and Japan are not far behind. The major powers in the world taking over banks that have your money. Savings, investments, maybe your retirement fund and no-one is standing up saying "umm...wait a sec...is this neccessary?". When all that money it paid in, will the taxpayers be better off? Don't think so!

I watched some of the presidental debate. When Obama started talking about the issue, he was calm, confident and positive while talking about the issue and possible solutions. When McCain got his chance, he started right off with "..fire and brimstone..this is the start of the end!!" kinda language!

So who do we believe? Who can actually tell us what the hell is going on?

When your a kid, you listen to your parents. "Don't do that, you'll get hurt!" Most of us listened, well, some :) I mean, their the "parent", they should know. Right!? When you got a older, you still listened, but put your own thoughts into the mix to form a descision. That "blank power" of "what's happening" and "what you should do" was gone!

Was it? Or did you replace the parent figure!

As you got older, you start listening to politicians as to "what's going on". For most people, when the government says "this is what's happening and this is what we're gonna do about it", you say "OK....knock yourself out!"

As the late great George Carlin always said. "I have this dumb thing I do. It's called "thinking"!! I try not to do it too often". Well far to many people don't do it at all!!

If a anyone told me "we want to spent $700 billion to save banks or the world will end", I'd pat them on the sholder, tell them everything was going to be OK, then quickly call the men with white-coats! If that same someone start taking over banks, replace the coats with hand-cuffs!!!

But no-one seems to be concerned! Most people I talk to "accept" what is happening. When asked "why?", they have no answer.

Granted, I'm not a "financial wiz-kid", I don't fully understand how all these banks managed to get into that much debt. To be honest, I could care less!

If I ran a business, which became 200% of it's value in debt, that would be my fault. Also, the banks fault for giving me the money to do it! The business would fold, assets taken, everyone would scramble to try an re-coup money. I would never be able to startup another business again.

But these banks. "We're so far in debit, every person on the planet will need to pay $250 to clear our debits, let's call Bush! He'll make it happen"!! WHAT!!!!!! But, as I said eariler, lots of other countries are doing the same.

Well.....sorry if I just don't believe what's being shoveled into my mouth! I say let them fall! If they're that stupid, they don't desirve to be in business. If the world economy collapses, the world will still be here. And maybe, just maybe, minus a few greedy businessman and some people losing some of their power!!!

Sounds good to me!
